This Giving Tuesday, November 30, we are asking our community to donate to our Play It Forward capital campaign. This campaign is raising money to help us up-fit our new, long-term home in West Asheville.
We plan to build a new multi-use studio for students to learn and practice music as individuals and in a group setting, which has many advantages. The multi-use rehearsal studio will enable us to create new programs, like an afterschool music program with Hall Fletcher Elementary School, further expanding our ability to provide greater access to an underserved, underrepresented student and family population.
AMS will be renovating the new space and launching programming that will not just bolster our community-driven mission of keeping music education accessible to all, but will allow AMS to offer music education in the modern era. In addition to the multi-use studio, we will be developing a brand new AMS Sound Lab where students will learn about the technology, equipment, and techniques to create, engineer, and produce both live and recorded music. Students who would love to learn music production but have not felt comfortable with traditional lessons and instruments will have the opportunity to shine.
