Donors Made It Happen, and So Can You
This past year, nearly 100 donors and supporters helped Asheville Music School bring the joy of music to 2,240 veterans, elders, the homeless, and people with disabilities. You too can be on this list! Just go to our DONATE page and contribute today. No amount is too big, or too small!
Defective Swing at The Hop Dec. 14
Our students are LIVE on Thurs. Dec. 14. Defective Swing, led by AMS teacher Andy John, plays modern and classic rock and pop songs. The evening will also feature solo performers, and a special performance by Burnt Toast. Start time is 6:30pm
Sat. Dec. 9 Recitals Cancelled
Due to weather, we are cancelling the Dec. 9 recitals. As of Friday afternoon, the Sunday Dec. 10 recitals are still on. If that changes, we will let you know. Dec. 9 reschedule tba. Stay safe!

Hillary’s Student Recital Open to Public – 11/19
One of our fantastic voice teachers, Hillary Trumpler, is having her student recital on Sunday November 19 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Asheville at 2pm. The recital is open to the public, and it’s free! Along with her private students, her student a cappella group, Noteworthy, will be performing.

New Student Ensemble w/ Juan Holladay
Our Sound Education Outreach program continues to grow! We’ve started another student ensemble, with the one and only Juan Holladay. Juan has been a staple of the Asheville music scene for years, leading the soul funk group Secret B-Sides. The ensemble rehearses on Wednesday nights here at AMS. Keep an ear outfor this group!

Music Theory Class- Thursdays
We held a free Music Theory 101 class during Back To Music School week, and our fantastic teacher Bob Strain is continuing the class! Give us a call or email if you’d like to attend the class. It meets on Thursdays, 6pm-7pm. Email info@ashevillemusicschool.org to inquire.
Whether you take lessons at AMS or not, you’re welcome to attend this class. If you’ve ever been curious about what’s behind the music you’ve been playing, singing, or listening to for years, this fun and informational workshop is for you. Open to adults and kids ages 14 and up.
