The kickoff to our Spring fundraising has begun! A Little Help From Our Friends campaign let’s donors sponsor a character or icon from the Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover. Andrew Finn Magill’s Fiddle Workshop will feature Irish and American fiddle tunes. Finn will start by doing some fun warm-ups and then learn the tunes by ear. We will learn the tunes in a call and response style. He plans to show the kids some “Fiddle tricks,” as well, to keep them interested. This will include chopping, beatboxing, some cool bowings and fiddle pyrotechnics.

Learn how to use your voice in a fun and supportive setting while singing custom arrangements of your favorite songs.
Mountain Soul Party will host an early, Lounge show, 7pm to 9pm, featuring youth ensembles, Vinyl Crossroads (directed by Gabrielle Tee) and Defective Swing (directed by Andy John). The Lounge show is in the upstairs Isis Lounge, where space is limited to fifty tickets. Proceeds from these tickets will be donated to the Burton Street ONEmic Studio / LEAF in Streets & Schools. Lounge tickets also grant entry to the downstairs, Main Stage show, at 9pm.
Due to weather, we are cancelling the Dec. 9 recitals. As of Friday afternoon, the Sunday Dec. 10 recitals are still on. If that changes, we will let you know. Dec. 9 reschedule tba. Stay safe!

We’re starting an A Capella Club! Directed by AMS teacher Hillary Trumpler, with student co-director Molly Rose. The club will meet on Tuesdays from 7:00-8:30pm. We’re looking for all voice types, male and female, in grades 9-12.
Auditions are on September 12. Singers should prepare an a capella verse and chorus of any song. You will be asked to vocalize and sing patterns, but you will not be required to read music.
